Sent on 4/19/2016 11:26:28 AM

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is proud to host the 20th Annual Southwest Police Motorcycle Training Competition (SPMTC). This event is an opportunity for 115 Police Motorcycle Officers from 26 different police agencies around the country to get together to share training ideas and promote quality Motorcycle Officer training. SPMTC also serves as a fundraiser for the Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics Arizona. This year’s event will be held at Park Place Mall, 5870 East Broadway Boulevard, in the east parking lot. Practice runs will take place Friday, April 22, 2016, with the competition on Saturday, April 23, 2016. Activities on both days are free to the public and will run from 7:00 am to approximately 4:00 pm. Competitors will be riding Harley-Davidson, Honda, BMW, Victory and Kawasaki motorcycles. Our Motor Unit has been working relentlessly to fundraise for this event to benefit Special Olympics Arizona. Because of their tireless efforts, over $48,000 has already been raised this year. Since the Southwest Police Motorcycle Training Competition started in 1997, the events have collectively raised over $564,400 for Special Olympics. We invite the public to attend and cheer on the competitors. For more information, visit: http://www.pimasheriff.org/private/20th-annual-southwest-police-motorcycle-training-competition/
