On March 20, 2013, at approximately 10:12 a.m., deputies with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Foothills District responded to the 2900 block of North Lloyd Bush Drive reference a car that had crashed into a residential yard. Upon arrival, deputies found a single vehicle that had gone off the roadway, rolled and crashed at the incident location. No other vehicles were involved. The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota Scion, a 47-year-old female, was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters with the Northwest Fire District. She was transported to University of Arizona Medical Center with possibly life threatening injuries. Investigators with the Sheriff’s Traffic Unit responded to the scene and determined that the driver had been wearing her seatbelt. Excessive speed is considered a factor in this incident. Traffic investigators also suspected possible impairment of the female driver. The investigation continues.
