The Pima County Sheriff’s Department 15th Annual G.A.I.N. Event will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013. Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods (G.A.I.N.) celebrations began in Phoenix and have been observed in Tucson since 1998. The purpose of this event is to raise community awareness and to promote the need for involvement in local neighborhoods. This enhances the relationships between the community and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. Neighborhood Watches all over Pima County participate by sponsoring some type of neighborhood event, from block parties to organized group walks. Members of the Sheriff’s Department will be present at many of the scheduled events to answer questions regarding Neighborhood Watch and to meet with citizens who choose to become involved in making a difference in their communities. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department encourages citizens to participate in this event anytime between the hours of 1:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Visit the Pima County Sheriff’s website at www.pimasheriff.org to learn how to get a Neighborhood Watch started in your community.
