Chief Deputy Chris Nanos advises on July 30, 2014, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Mount Lemmon deputies responded to Marshall Gulch reference human skeletal remains found by a couple of hikers. When deputies arrived, they were directed by the hikers to the location of the human skeletal remains that were located a quarter mile from the picnic area. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Department Homicide Unit responded to the incident location. During the course of their investigation they found no evidence of foul play or suspicious circumstances. The cause of death and positive identification is pending the completion of a forensic examination. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
