As part of the ongoing national enforcement effort “Drive sober or get pulled over” and with support from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force will deploy another sobriety checkpoint this weekend. Addressing roadway safety concerns over the upcoming Labor Day weekend, the checkpoint will be operational on Saturday, September 1, 2012 This joint effort will have law enforcement officers from the following agencies involved: Oro Valley Police Department, Arizona Department of Public Safety and Pima County Sheriff’s Department. Arizona Rangers and the Pima County Sheriff’s Auxiliary Volunteers will be providing support to the agencies involved. At the conclusion of the checkpoint, saturation patrols will be performed throughout the area. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is asking all motorists to be responsible citizens. If you are impaired, don’t drive!
