Missing Person - 68-year-old who suffers from Alzheimer's

Deputies with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department San Xavier District responded to a Missing Person call in the 3000 block of West Hermans Road. Family members called 9-1-1 at approximately 7:09 p.m. on September 26, 2012. Deputies learned that the person missing was a male, identified as Francisco Raymond Montiel (DOB 08/19/44). Mr. Montiel was last seen at approximately 7:30 a.m. on September 26, 2012 and left his house on foot. At the time he went missing, Mr. Montiel was wearing blue flannel plead pajama pants, a grey t-shirt and a blue “LA” baseball hat. He was described as approximately 5’5” tall, 185 pounds, brown eyes and grey hair. He has a cut (approximately ½”) on his left arm. (The picture attached to this release shows Mr. Montiel in the center of a group of family members. He has since lost 35 pounds in weight.) Mr. Montiel suffers from a variety of medical conditions, to include Hepatitis C, liver cirrhosis, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and a heart condition. He was on anti-depressant medication, but has not taken his daily dose for approximately the past three weeks. Francisco Montiel has no other local family or friends and is potentially trying to reach family members is Los Angeles, CA. Anyone with information on Mr. Montiel’s whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1.
