On December 12, 2015, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Public Safety will conduct a joint DUI Sobriety Checkpoint. Their mission is to take impaired drivers off the roadway. Both departments are committed to working relentlessly in making our community safe. If you plan on going out and consuming alcohol, here are a few safety tips: • Prior to drinking, designate a non-drinking driver when with a group. • Don’t let your friends drive impaired. • If you have been drinking, get a ride home from a sober driver or call a taxi. • If you are hosting a party, remind guests to plan ahead and designate a sober driver. Operational funding and equipment were made available through grants awarded by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
