Thanks to a grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS), the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has recently purchased a DUI enclosed cargo trailer. The DUI trailer will transport signage, cones, and other related equipment to and from DUI sobriety checkpoints. In addition, the DUI trailer has graphics displaying a message for the citizens of Pima County. We are hoping that this message will remind people to think about the grave dangers of driving impaired. Through education and intervention, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department hopes to reduce alcohol related crashes and impaired driving on our streets. Please join us on October 29, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., for a press conference to show the DUI trailer. We will also thank the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for their continued support of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. The grant will also allow us to continue our efforts to keep Pima County roads safe through education and enforcement. The conference will be held outside the front entrance of the Pima County Sheriff’s Administration Building located at 1750 E. Benson Highway.
