On August 31, 2012, at approximately 10:27 a.m., deputies with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Green Valley District responded to a robbery at the Commerce Bank located at Esperanza Boulevard and La Canada Drive in Green Valley. The Sheriff’s Robbery/Assault Unit sent detectives to investigate the incident. They learned that a male suspect had entered the bank earlier and handed the teller a note demanding money. No weapons were implied, and he left the building with an undisclosed amount of cash. He reportedly fled eastbound from the bank on foot. After reviewing surveillance footage, detectives determined that the suspect was the same individual they are looking for in three other bank robberies that occurred in the Tucson metro area. Pictures of the suspect are attached to this release. The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, approximately 5’10” to 5’11” tall, in his early 50’s. He had a mustache, salt and pepper hair which was clean cut, but with scruffy facial hair. The suspect wore the same hat and blue, long sleeve shirt as during the last three incidents. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME. Detective W. Farmer with the Robbery/Assault Unit can be reached at (520) 351-3111.
