Chief Deputy Chris Nanos advises on May 30, 2014, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Green Valley District deputies responded to 2500 South Abrego Drive reference a Border Patrol agent involved in a shooting. When deputies arrived, they learned a Border Patrol agent was involved in a vehicle pursuit. During the foot pursuit, Border Patrol Agent Daniel Marquez fired multiple shots at the suspect. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Jose Luis Arambula, a resident of metropolitan Tucson, was pronounced dead at the scene. A subsequent search of the vehicle Mr. Arambula was driving revealed twenty one (21) bales of marijuana, weighing nearly 500 pounds in total.
