Suspect Sought in Attempted Robbery

Sent on 8/27/2014 1:03:27 PM

On August 17, 2014, the Sheriff’s Department received a report of an attempted robbery at the AM/PM store located at 2891 W. Valencia Road. When deputies with the San Xavier District interviewed the clerk, he told them about a male who came into the store at approximately 4:55 AM. The suspect reportedly wandered around the store for awhile and then approached the counter. He placed his hands behind his back and demanded all the money from the register. Though the clerk was under the impression that the suspect was armed, he refused the suspect’s repeated demands to hand over any money. Eventually, the suspect left the store without taking anything. The suspect was described as a Caucasian man in his 20s, clean cut and shaven. He was approximately 6’00” tall with very short blonde or brown hair, balding in the front. He was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, white and black shoes, and a collared shirt with horizontal orange, dark blue, light blue and white stripes. Anyone with information about this incident or information about the identity of the suspect is urged to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
