Just after 3:00 p.m. today, Foothills District Deputies responded to a suspicious activity call near the area of Romero Road and Wetmore Road. They learned an 11-year-old boy was walking home from school when two males in a car pulled up near him. The passenger got out and said, “Come over here. Get in the car.” The boy ran away from the men and to a relative’s home nearby. He was unharmed. Deputies circulated the area looking for the suspects, but were unable to locate them. The driver was described as Hispanic and the passenger was described as Caucasian. The suspects were in a white passenger car, possibly similar to a Ford Crown Victoria. No other descriptions are available. We would like to remind everyone to talk to their children about what to do if they are approached by strangers while by themselves. Fortunately, in this instance, the young man acted very quickly and was able to get away safely. The incident will be investigated until all leads are exhausted. Anyone with further information regarding this incident is urged to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
