In the early morning hours of October 18, 2012, deputies with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department San Xavier and Foothills Districts responded to two separate robberies of QuikMart convenience stores that occurred only 33 minutes apart from one another (0223 hours & 0256 hours). The first incident occurred at 4280 East Benson Highway and the second one at 900 West Roger Road. In both incidents the same suspects appear to be involved. They threatened the store clerks at knife point and demanded money and cigarettes. Verbal threats were made to the store employees throughout the holdup. The suspects fled on foot after their demands were met. Surveillance video was obtained from the store at 900 West Roger Road and is available on the Sheriff’s Department’s YouTube channel for review. Suspect #1 was described to be approximately 5’7” to 5’10” tall, thin build, wearing a white t-shirt with black print on the front. He was wearing construction gloves and a baseball hat. He had a sheath for the large knife hanging down on the right side of his belt. His face was covered by a bandana. Suspect #2 was described to be approximately 5’4” to 5’7” tall, medium build, wearing a black t-shirt with white vertical print on it and black pants. He held a smaller knife (possibly a folding knife), his face was also covered with a bandana and he also used construction gloves. This suspect also wore a baseball hat. Anyone with information on these two suspects or any other information on these two cases is urged to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
