The male driver shot and killed in self-defense by a Pima County Sheriff’s Deputy last night has been identified as 23-year-old Vladimir Cardenas. He was wanted on a misdemeanor arrest warrant out of the Tucson Police Department. As part of the investigation conducted at the scene last night, detectives with the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division obtained a search warrant for Cardenas’ vehicle. Inside they found what appeared to be different types of drugs and drug paraphernalia along with a variety of additional weapons. The investigation continues.
