Update: Suspect Arrested April 28, 2016 Detectives from both our Auto Theft and Robbery/Assault Units worked together to develop a lead in this case. Their collaboration lead to the identification of 22-year-old Mateo Rodriguez. With the assistance of Tucson Police Department, Mateo Rodriguez was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center on the following charges: • Armed Robbery (7 Counts) • Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2 Counts) • 1st Degree Burglary (2 Counts) • Possession of a Narcotic Drug (1 count) • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (1 count) Additional charges may be pending after further investigation. **Original Release:Serial Drive-Through Robber** (Released: April 26, 2016) Robbery/Assault detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in multiple armed robberies in Pima County and the City of Tucson. The suspect drives through a fast food restaurant drive-through and pays for his order. As the restaurant employee opens the cash register, the suspect displays a black handgun, and steals money out of the cash register drawer. The man has been seen driving two different vehicles, a white 4-door 1500 Dodge Ram and a grey 4-door sports utility vehicle. No one has been injured during the robberies. The most recent robbery occurred at approximately 6:57 p.m. on April 20, 2016 at the McDonalds located at 2990 W. Valencia Road. The suspect is described as: • Caucasian male • Thin build • Age: Late teens to early 20s • Last seen wearing a grey striped hooded sweatshirt, a black hat with no markings, and jeans Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect or these incidents is encouraged to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
