On Wednesday, July 18, 2018, deputies responded to the Wilde Meyer Gallery at 2890 E. Skyline Drive for the report of a theft. Upon arrival, they were advised a subject driving a Dodge Dakota pickup truck passed by the front of the gallery, then returned a short time later and backed into a parking spot in front of the business. The subject grabbed a statue sitting outside and loaded it into the back of the truck. The statue is described as a metal rust colored cactus with yellow painted flowers valued at approximately $3,000. The suspect then left in an unknown direction. The suspect is described as: • Caucasian male or female, muscular, with short brown hair • Last seen wearing a black colored dress and black tennis shoes • Driving a single cab green or gray 90’s model Dodge Dakota pickup truck with a white stripe down the side. Detectives have taken over the investigation and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in this case. Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1.
