On February 21, 2016, just after 5:00 p.m. Rincon District deputies responded to a report of an assault near the 9800 Block of East Snyder Road. The deputies learned a woman was assaulted by an unknown man while walking on the road. The woman said she saw the same vehicle pass her two to four times. Initially, she thought it was someone who was lost and looking for a particular address. The woman still thought the driving behavior was suspicious, so she began walking on the dirt portion of the road to get further away from the vehicle. She then saw the vehicle make a U-turn and approach her from behind. When the vehicle stopped a male got out of the car, ran toward her, and physically assaulted her. She started screaming, which appeared to startle the suspect. He immediately stopped, ran to his car, and drove off toward Harrison Road. The victim did not sustain any significant injuries. The suspect is described as: • Caucasian, approximately 6’ 0” tall, 230 pounds, with reddish-blonde hair • Last seen wearing a red University of Arizona shirt and jeans The suspect’s vehicle is described as: • A dark-green, older (possibly 1990’s) Chevrolet Sports Utility Vehicle Anyone with information on the suspect or this incident is urged to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
